Bumrah's injury will be a blow for the Indian team - considering his form and accuracy in shorter formats of the game. "But he was very good in the Tests in South Africa as well and team management will hope that he gets fit in time for the Test series against England. It's a big blow for India. Hope his replacement will do a good job of it," a source in the know of things told TOI on Saturday.
India are likely to draft in either Mumbai paceman Shardul Thakur or Rajasthan pacer Deepak Chahar as possible replacement for Bumrah. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel is in reckoning to replace Washington. All three bowlers are currently touring with the India 'A' team in England. Chahar has been in good form for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has continued to do well for India 'A' in England.
